Gliders

Students are taught with a Condor 225 and a small fleet of Falcons. There are no safer or easier gliders to master. Intermediate gliders are available for loan (on site) to help new Novice-rated pilots broaden their skills. Gliders may be rented when not in use.

Once your training is complete we would be delighted to offer you a discount on brand new Wills Wing equipment.

Harnesses & Helmets

A simple, light and comfortable apron harnesses (see photo above) is used for the early stages of training when students spend most of their time ground handling their glider and make only low flights. As they progress higher they are transitioned to the pod harness used by experienced pilots.

A typical first purchase is a full-face Kevlar flying helmet - pricey, but worth every penny. Cheaper, heavier, motorcycle helmets cannot be supported in a prone (face down) position without causing neck strain.

Tow Releases

During your training, Neepawa Hang Gliding will provide the towline release systems needed. Quality releases are expensive. At the end of the season we try to facilitate a group discount for new pilots.
