Second Hand Sales

New novice flight equipment costs from $6000 to $8,000. Therefore, the first question usually asked is: Where can one find quality second hand equipment, and the second: What is quality second hand equipment?

The best advice we can offer is to browse the HangGliding.Org Wiki pages, in particular Gliders and Choosing your First Wing. They provide excellent advice. We have two additional recommendations:
  • Buy the best that you can afford. Good equipment can be resold with minimal depreciation. Older, end of the line, equipment may be difficult to sell and could easily become a 100% write-off. Newer designs are also much easier to learn with.
  • Buy a locally popular glider. In Manitoba, the popular makes are Wills Wing and Pacific Airwave. Resident expertise and replacement parts are easy to obtain. Pacific Airwave ceased production years ago but their gliders are still well supported by Northwing.
New pilots sometimes buy a used glider off the Internet. Sometimes they are lucky. Just as often we are forced to condemn it. Talk with us first. We may be able to help keep you out of trouble.

We maintain a list of local used equipment. We will facilitate sales only if we have satisfactorily inspected and test flown the glider. No commission is levied on equipment sold to or purchased from Neepawa pilots.
